Transportation and Local Information

SELSE 2019 will be held at the Stanford Investors Common in the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  The Investors Common is located in the Schwab Residential Center.

Getting Here

SELSE attendees can fly into the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or the San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC). Both airports are about 20 miles from campus.

Accommodations

SELSE 2019 has reserved a room block in the Schwab Residential Center. The rooms are in a building adjacent to the workshop venue.

Each spacious suite features bedroom with an extra-long full-size bed, bath, and a living area and include high-speed internet access and a 32” flat-screen television. Each suite includes a hair dryer, alarm clock, iron, ironing board, and complimentary toiletries. Amenities include access to a shared kitchen, laundry service and two laundry rooms, 24-hour front desk service and daily housekeeping service. 

The rooms are available for a rate of $200 per night (plus taxes) for a single occupancy room. Request to reserve a room can be made during registration for the workshop. Please do not make direct requests for room reservations to the Schwab Residential Center. SELSE attendees may only request a room during workshop registration. On the registration form, check the box indicating that you want housing at the Schwab Center. Availability of rooms is limited and will be assigned on a first-come basis.  Again, please do not contact the Schwab Residential Center directly.  The conference will be handling communication with the Schwab Center.  The last day for booking a room through the conference is March 20, 2019. 

Ground Transportation

Various Bay Area transit services can be used to get to the Stanford University campus, including VTA, CalTrain and BART from different parts of the Bay Area. Stanford University offers a free public shuttle service called Marguerite connecting major local transit stops. Schedules and routes available at https://transportation.stanford.edu/marguerite

The Marguerite shuttle will be running a normal schedule during SELSE, despite SELSE being during Stanford’s spring break.

Parking

Parking is available in the underground structure at the Knight Management Center, which is located across the street from the Schwab Residential Center. Daily parking permits cost $17 and can be purchased at the kiosks in the parking lot using credit cards or using the ParkMobile app ( https://parkmobile.io ).

SELSE attendees may also park at one of surface lots on campus, which can paid by the hour. Parking lots near the SELSE venue (Schwab Residential Center):

        Bonair Siding Road and Campus Drive (2 minute walk)

        Memorial Way and Galvez Street (5 minute walk)

        Visitor Center at 295 Galvez Street (10 minute walk)

        Campus Drive East and Wilbur Way (10 minute walk)

Rideshare and Taxi Pick-up and Drop-Off

If you are taking a taxi or using a rideshare service to arrive at the Schwab Residential Center, the street by the main entrance is only accessible to pedestrians and bicycles. There is a designated pick-up and drop-off turnaround accessible via Campus Drive East. Please use 680 Serra Street, Stanford, CA as the address to get to the designated pick-up/drop-off zone.
